Hi, Mark here. I’ve been reading about the 4k77 restoration for years and finally decided that it is time to see the movies the way I first saw them. I’m 59 and I remember seeing Star Wars in Haarlem, the Netherlands, when I must have been 11 or 12. It became a major part of my life. When The Empire Strikes Back was out, we were vacationing in Canada. I convinced my dad to take me. It became one of my all time favorite movies.

I’ve owned the movies on every format available and love my 4k UHD blu-rays. But one thing major I’ve always wondered is… were the scenes on the Death Star really more scary and suspenseful than I experience them today? The walking through the corridors before suddenly Darth Vader shows up. And, in the Empire Strikes Back, the scene where he shows up in the swamp. These are now amongst my earliest memories. And in the later editions, I feel the suspense is lessened by the smoothness and perfection.
