Hey, just wanted to share a few resources that might be helpful when tracking changes in the Star Wars Special Editions — both audio and video.
There are some great threads on TSWT.com:
- Original Trilogy Dolby Atmos Theatrical Synced Soundtracks
- SRDXX 1997 AC-3 THX Laserdisc Audio Synced to the Original Star Wars Trilogy
- “I Never Noticed This Before” – Audio Edition
- The White Executor Bridge in Return of the Jedi (Blu-ray, 4K, Disney+)
- Have I Discovered a Special Edition Change?
There’s also this spreadsheet, which includes tons of Special Edition differences — and even pre-Special Edition audio and video changes.
It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but it’s definitely a valuable resource:And if you’re digging deeper into the audio side specifically, this could be super helpful:
Hope this helps!
Only thing to note about that shotlist is that it incorrectly claims that a lot of ESB SE audio changes were in the 70mm mix. There wasn’t a proper copy of that mix when the list was created so incorrect assumptions were made, the 70mm Print A over on the TSWT forums is the best source to use for tracking audio differences in the 70mm mix.
