I have a question

On the DVD versions and the HD Disney+ versions of the TV series of The Clone Wars, they seem to have DVNR in them, which scrubs away some detail in them.

I’m not quite sure if the Blu-rays has DVNR in them.

What do you think? If you have the Blu-rays of the TV series of The Clone Wars, do they have DVNR in them?

I mean there can’t and won’t be noise removal since it’s a digitally produced program. Likely what you’re seeing is probably just due to resolution issues. Maybe your Disney+ stream just isn’t fast enough to show the full 1080p stream. The DVDs are also only just 480p too. I assume you’re comparing them to the full bitrate Blu-Rays or something.

Well, I’m just hoping that the Blu-rays don’t have the DVD masters with DVNR.

Noise reduction is something that came along in the HD era to reduce film grain (like the notorious Predator Blu-ray) while before that DVDs were usually plagued by different problems caused artificial sharpening since the movie would have been crushed down from a higher quality. So that’s two separate/opposing issues from different eras. I would imagine the current streaming version is closest to what is being sold on BD now. Are there no AV club style reviews?
