BTW, SINCE RIKTER HAS NEVER POSTED IN HERE I WANTED TO BRING SOMETHING UP. AS SOME OF YOU MIGHT KNOW HIS DAUGHTER HAS HAD QUITE A FEW HEALTH PROBLEMS, AND THE BILLS HAVE SKYROCKETED. Attention all members!

A few days ago PSYCHO_DAYV bought something to our attention.

As some of you might know, Rikter’s daughter has had quite a few health problems, and the bills have skyrocketed. It would be great if all of us could send him anywhere from $5-$10 each. I know that it doesn't sound like much, but together it could be a great blessing to him and his family.

I have volunteered to be the middle-man in this little Christmas present for Rikter, so if anybody is interested, they can donate via Paypal to me at ‘mattfitch at hot mail dotcom’ and i will forward the total to Rik on behalf of his friends at OT.com and send him a little spark of hope.

The thing is, I'm going away for the holidays, so there will have to be a deadline for donations, say December 21st? That gives us exactly one week to get all the donations in. I’m sure Rikter has helped many of you in the past to obtain dvds, etc, so now’s a great time to return the favour, and spread a little Christmas cheer.

P.S I would ask that anyone who donates writes their OT.com username and ‘Rikter’ in the notes of their paypal payment so that I know what the payment is for and who it’s from, and I promise I won’t run off with the money

Come on you guys, so far this thread has been viwed over 60 times but I've only had 2 donations and 2 enquiries. Over in the preservation thread I see lots of you taking up some other members on offers of free DVDs for christmas, so how about paying forward some of that christmas kindness?

Yeah c'mon folks... I just found this and I've been away from the forums for awhile but Rik has probably helped out more people here and at MySpleen than anyone I've met online. My donation was just sent. Ring the bell- spread the word!!!

Anyone who is having trouble with paypal for whatever reason, do what Dayv said - e-mail him for Rikter's postal address. It would be nice if we could get as many donations via paypal and send him a big lump a day or two before christmas, but if there's no other way, snail mail is better than nothing. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, keep it coming.

I don't have a way in this crappy forum software to PM or e-mail everyone at once.

What I can do, if YIYF is willing to extend the deadline, is very quickly build an e-mail app that will let me grab all the e-mail addresses out of the database and e-mail every member. I could probably get it done tonight actually. A bit SPAMmy, but it's for a good cause.

Hello all. The total is currently $205, so you can all give yourselves a pat on the back (although we still need another $45 to save us from Greencapt's home video). I can extend the deadline until midnight on friday, the 23rd, but after that there is no way I will be able to get near a computer to send Rikter the payment, so that will have to be the total dead dead deadline. Oh, and I live in England, so I am talking UK time. For those of you who don't know the time difference, please see below. I seriously won't be near a computer after the 23rd so please don't waste a moment in getting those donations to me.

DEADLINES:

East Coast: 7pm, Friday December 23rd
Midwest: 6pm, Friday December 23rd
Mountain: 5pm, Friday December 23rd
West Coast: 4pm, Friday December 23rd.
The rest of the world: You do the math.
