After Andor: Season 2 has now finished I’d love to see a Rogue One edit in the style of Andor (a la NFBism’s quality edit) … yet see a project which edits down Vader’s presence in the film - namely the end slaughter of the Rebel soldiers in the passageway.

^ Not because that concept wasn’t a sound one - it certainly was - it is just that the execution of it really doesn’t fit in the rest of Rogue One as a film (likely because it was a late addition for Rogue One)… let alone an Andor/R1 ‘combo’ edit.

The sounds of the Rebel soldiers being killed… sure, that fits. The Rebel soldiers ensuring the plans make it through to the next passageway - to the next set of Rebels - despite knowing their fate is sealed… that also fits, of course. Though the focus on Vader himself always felt ‘fan-service-y’ to me (and I say that as a massive fan of Rogue One).

Just spitballing: perhaps having ‘fades’ - in and out of black - instead of seeing Vader actually wield the lightsaber in the hallway - yet still seeing and hearing the Rebel soldiers die would be better / more in keeping with the tone of Andor? Something like that. Maybe even Shamook-level deepfaking for the CGI Leia and Tarkin scenes as well (one can dream 😉).

Enough of my rambling on.

Anyway, good luck to anyone attempting ‘an Andor Trilogy’ edit - or simply an ‘Andor: Season 2’ edit. 👍
