Some of these edits have been lurking in my edits folders for a while, but I just haven’t gotten around to releasing them publicly yet. All of them are for my ESL students so each of them have hardcoded English subtitles. Sorry if that’s a dealbreaker for any of you, but it makes editing them so much easier.

All of the edits also include ESL reader adaptations of the films themselves.

The first is an edit of Superman II that incorporates elements of Donner with some Lester, but uses the excellent work done for ‘The Kryptonian Cuts’ to modernize the Metropolis battle and Fran Garcia’s ‘Richard Donner Vision’ fixes for the unexplained new powers. I end the film with Lois still knowing who Superman is. No memory kiss or time reversal.

The last two are pretty simple tweaks of Wakeupkeo’s edits for Man of Steel and Wonder Woman. While I think Keo’s edits of BvS and JL are the high water mark for DCEU edits, I wanted more material from the theatrical cuts when I show them MoS and WW. My Man of Steel edit is essentially Keo’s edit, but with the full Krypton sequence restored while my Wonder Woman edit is the theatrical cut, but with Keo’s fix for the awful Daddy Zeus/Ares scene inserted.

If you already have the link to my edits, you’re good to go. Please contact me through PM for one.

These are the newst additions to the collection of superhero edits for my ESL students. As a result, they each have hardcoded English subtitles.

BATMAN ‘66 is a minor edit of the movie released in between the first and second seasons of the show. Aside from a few trims for pacing, the big difference is the addition of the traditional opening that the film lacks. The new running time is 1 hour 40 minutes.

WONDER WOMAN ‘75 is a heavily trimmed edit of the pilot movie for the Lynda Carter show. The intent here is to keep the focus mostly on Diana herself and less on the uninteresting ‘comedic’ shenanigans of the Nazis. New running time is about 49 minutes.

BATMAN [Comic Cut] is a more streamlined edit of ParanoidAndroid’s HD remake of Dwight Fry’s Descent into Mystery, which eliminated the uninteresting Vicki Vale romance as well as any instances of Batman killing and Joker being the Wayne’s murderer. Inspired by Silent Pete’s even brisker version of Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film, my edit trims out most of the scenes with the mayor. New running time is 1 hour 26 minutes.

BATMAN RETURNS [Comic Cut] similarly cuts the two instances of Batman murdering guys (at least on-screen, I wouldn’t dream of cutting Keaton’s smile at putting the bomb in that guy’s pants). I also scale back a bit of Devito’s Penguin. I think less is more with him. I also used ForceGhostRecon’s fix for Keaton’s missing eye make-up right before he unmasks. New running time is 1 hour 55 minutes.

WONDER WOMAN ‘84 is slight re-edit of Wakeupkeo’s absolutely revelatory Wonder Woman: The Excellent Edit, which fixes most of the film’s problems and replaces the soundtrack with 80s hard rock classics. All I’ve done here is swap out the Middle East action sequence with the theatrical version because I prefer it. New running time is 1 hour 51 minutes.

As a bonus, I’ve included a short film of WW84’s opening 10 minutes called DIANA & THE TRIALS. Wakeupkeo wisely cut it from his edit, but I think it’s a fun action sequence that works well on its own.

None of these edits would be possible without the hard work of the people whose material I’m building on. I encourage anyone who doesn’t like my hardcoded subtitles to seek out their original versions. They’re all worth your time.

If you already have the link to my edits, use that. Otherwise, please send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE for the link. As always, suggestions are welcome.
