Hello there!

Judging by the first 3-episodes of S2, you’ve certainly got your work cut out for you with an Andor II 2.5 hour film cut!

Agreed

With the one year time jumps every three episodes is it even going to be possible?

You may have to break the 2.5 hour movie into quarters with the “one year later, BBY…” appearing each time

Not really. The time could be implied like a lot of movies do. Also the first three were so slow, you could easily knock out their plots within 20-30 minutes, make it apart of the 1st act.

True. The third episode of each story arc seems to be the only time something happens. Could almost just use the four of these alone

Are you planning on revising this edit once the entire series is complete? I was very impressed by how well you were able to compress it all into 2.5 hours, but the events of the second season have certainly complicated things. 😉 I’ll be very curious to see what you come up with if you’re planning to do so.

It’s definitely going to take some serious thought. I’ve been trying to just let myself enjoy the season as it is so far, but I must admit that at times I’m kind of editing as I watch. I’ve got some ideas that I think will work, but I won’t know for sure until I dive into it.

I’d like a link to this cut, please. I just joined. I have looked through this site, but see no way to “PM” the fan editor. I’ll keep looking.

Just binged the last 9 episodes today. Similar to Season 1, it was very slow at parts, and then majorly picks up.

Stuff with side characters, not related to either Cassian, Mothma, Luthen, or Deidra/Cyril, I was basically skipping. Although I was trying to pay attention if any of it came to major relevance later, and honestly msot of it did not. I think any of the lesser arcs outside of those those characters can be almost entirely cut, outside of where they intersect with the main characters.

The act structure will be tricky, but this can definitely be made into ONE great film. Anymore than that would be stretching it IMO.

Although I really enjoyed a lot of the subplots and minor characters, I agree with you that by sticking to the major characters and plotlines, something feeling like an actual film can be achieved. That’s exactly how I approached my edit of season one.

Obviously, tons of footage will have to be cut, but that’s what makes it such a fun challenge. Some people will never be interested in watching season two in an abbreviated form, which I get, but I still believe many people will enjoy the alternate viewing experience of a film trilogy ending with Rogue One. I know I will!

I’d be interested in watching S2 in an abbreviated version! Then I could watch S1, S2, & Rogue One in a single sitting 😉
