I was wondering, what condition is this print in?

It was shockingly clean! The condition is extremely nice overall, with just one splice on the third reel. I think people will be really happy with how the final scan turns out. 😃

How so? I mean the color’s a bit faded.

It’s actually a lot less faded than the pictures made it out to be! Check the image links I replied to Peter with on the last page, you’ll see they’re pretty close to how the colors presumably should look. There’s a tiny bit of fade, but it’ll be pretty easy to color-correct.

That reminds me, Considering that there is one splice in one of the reels, I have a Blu-Ray copy of this movie and I can try to match the visuals to the film print to fill that in.

Or…you can use the NTSC LaserDiscs of the film to recreate the official aesthetic of 35mm print that Disney used in their pre-2000 masters. Especially since according to the Deluxe CAV Edition LD, many of the raw digital frames done after rendering were instantly transferred over to positive 35mm, since digitally sourced films weren’t a thing back in 1995.

I don’t have a laserdisc player.

Maybe anyone who has a laserdisc player, any NTSC LD copy of the film, and a capture card, alongside perfect NTSC calibration from the software could help.

Crazy this is not out still? If I get time I will just scan it for everyone for free I may have a print of it somewhere either Part 1 or Part 2…

Hey Pete, whatever happened to that “Re-Animator 35mm scan” you were going to post through your Patreon 😃

Hey everyone,

I want to address the accusations around the Re-Animator leak. Honestly, I find it ironic that my integrity is being questioned. Let me be clear: I did not leak that film. If you think otherwise, I challenge you—show me a single shred of evidence that directly links me to posting or sharing it. You won’t find it. Accusations without proof are just noise.

Now, for those who actually know my work, you’ll know I’ve put in serious time and effort into this community. I’ve helped bring real visibility to 35mm scans—actual visibility, not just chatter. People in the industry are talking about it now. I’ve traveled, I’ve met people, and I’ve done the groundwork.

Also, I’ve delivered on every promise I’ve made—often in under a month. And unlike others who just threw money at a Cintel, I took the time to understand the mechanics and build my own 35mm scanner. I’m not here to just ride a trend—I’m here to perfect the process.

So before throwing out accusations, maybe take a moment to look at the bigger picture and ask: what have you done to move this scene forward?

Let’s stop with the finger-pointing and actually work together. On that note—regarding Toy Story—I thought I had copies of the first and second films, but I was mistaken. If anyone can get me the reels, I’ll scan them for free. Let’s make something positive out of this.

Maybe embracing our passions is the way forward? You guys all thought I was full of shit & it turned out that I was for real. So what you guys unfairly judged me… Happens… But lets all move forward.

Re- Toy story I will help out for free as much as i can to not let the people in this thread down. Big love guys.

You put up on your Patreon that you were releasing a 35mm scan of Re-Animator. I still have the screenshot before you took it down when everyone messaged you. It was also posted in the Discord. You were literally trying to make money off the scan I paid a lot of money for. And I know for a fact that you don’t have a scan of it. Especially then. You aren’t very smart.

So did I leak it or not? Did you ever ask your self that the picture was just a picture to throw people off & I released Batman… Dude, I never leaked your film or make money doing this at all. Also, if I wanted a Re-Animator badly with out paying. I would scan my print & scan the film myself.

Honestly, I think maybe do some research on me. I supported your releases not because I needed the film but because you are a fellow fan of scanned films. I actually, I have a massive collection & I am buying prints every day.

Scan of what? Re-Animator? Actually I can prove to you right now that i donated. maybe check under my other handle? lol… Jesus christ you guys are out to lunch… You even made 2 versions ding dong…

Also you did napoleon dynamite? Did i share that?

“Did you ever ask your self that the picture was just a picture to throw people off & I released Batman…” Ok, I’m going to be very blunt and this is the last time I’m ever responding to you. You either think everyone else is mentally handicapped, you’re the worst liar in existence, or you’re actually less smart than I ever could have imagined. I’m actually astonished you actually wrote this out and thought another human being would take it seriously. You donated 10 dollars to 1 project and then you immediately started sharing clips of it on Twitter calling it your “personal”. And then you made a Patreon saying you had a “35mm scan of Re-Animator”. I have your Patreon archived from then on two separate sites, and have a screenshot. Anyone in the world can go look at the archived web page see that you were going to release a “35mm scan of Re-Animator” after you received my encodes, and were showing it on Twitter. At least you haven’t tried to make the even worse argument that it was one of your blurays with grain and scratches slapped on it. These are not supposed to be shared anywhere at all, in any capacity. That’s why all my projects are now done in private topics with a handful of trusted donors and in the locked away discord section. And all this is extra hilarious because you were the only one who said you didn’t want to talk to anyone on OT or Discord anymore. Remember when Dave talked to you and you acted all nice and said you just wanted to be left alone, then right after blocked everyone and started crying on Twitter, making up shit and posting your inept videos? I’ve tried to be nice to you and I don’t care if you whine and cry about me until Jesus comes back, but I’m 100% not going to let you come to someone else’s topic and let you act like a maniacal asshole. Especially when YOU said you didn’t want anything to do with this place or the Discord server. Remember we’re the “OT guys” and we just “want to bring you down”? So why are you even here? We all know why.

How about this humidity?

I got the Japanese Deluxe CAV and the Standard NTSC Laserdisc. I still need to rip the laserdisc for my server at some point.

Are we able to still purchase a copy of the scan? I am happy to donate money towards it or donate to help your other projects.

If you rip it, will this be IVTC’d?

Since you said that the third reel had a splice, why don’t you use the Blu-ray release as a source to cover up the splice? You can also tweak the color, brightness, etc.

Hello!

I do honestly wonder what the file(s) might look like once distribution is ready. Either it would be a single video file with the splice patched with the BD or LD footage or a series of uncompressed/lossless raw scans of each reel for us to compile together?

But it was ok when people jumped in my stuff right? I mean lets be honest here? At least I am offering help & to work together.

I think over all maybe you need to chill do a bit of back round on what I am doing & just admit you are wrong mate. I mean. Its all good, the guy explained the context of the release. All is good, maybe you should breathe for a second.

Hey dude,

Awesome! Can’t wait to see how the film originally looked without any of the subsequent minor changes made on the DVD/ Blu Ray! Its been a long time coming since this project started and I’m glad to see its finally paying off!

Hey y’all– the final encode is FINALLY finished and I’m currently in the process of slowly but surely getting it out to people. Thank you for bearing with me!

My apologies, I have indeed been quite busy with my personal life being a bit of a mess at the moment. I will be messaging people individually and getting the necessary details to share the scan with them– just hang in there, we are so close!
