How would you handle a hard reboot of all nine episodes of Star Wars? — Page 2

For the remakes of the original trilogy they would be directed by Zack Snyder and feel like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9X_FmCbrIA

All of the characters would be played by George Lucas, except Mark Hamill is Darth Vader and Ewan McGregor plays Ben Kenobi.

All the characters are CGI, including the humans. In fact, the entire movie is CGI. Even George Lucas is CGI.

It would use the original drafts with none of the rewrites. This needs to be George’s unembellished vision before people started reining him in. Well, except for whatever Zack Snyder offers to the table.

The prequels would be three hour experimental films just like the movies George Lucas wanted to make before Star Wars became successful. All completely visual, no actors or dialogue. Basically make them a Star Wars version of Stan Brakhage movies or Koyaanisqatsi.

And then the remake of the sequel trilogy is basically just shot for shot remakes of the other movies, like Gus Van Sant’s Psycho remake. Maybe have Vince Vaughn appear in them as Darth Vader, why not?

For anybody out there who didn’t realize this was a joke, please do not actually do this, I beg you.

All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph!

I wouldn’t worry about the Sequel Trilogy because it doesn’t really tie to OT anyway, nor have a consistent story worth rebooting.

But what I would like to see is Episodes 4-6 made as a continuation of the Prequels.

I don’t consider the prequels to be set in the same continuity as the OT anyway, so I feel like the Episodes 4-6 don’t exist for these prequel characters anyway.

And Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have already shown they’d be up for, and suitable, to play their parts again, so why not…

I would make the reboot similar to Tolkien’s three ages of Middle Earth.

The first trilogy would focus on the “ancient times”
The second would show the downfall of the Republic and rise of the Empire.
The third would be a clone of the original trilogy, showing the defeat of the Empire and return of peace to the galaxy.
