1993 LD Boxset commentary subtitles (english)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on the “1993 LD commentaries” subtitles of the Original Trilogy available on the analog track of the 1993 LD boxset, for me first as I’m french & I’d like, waiting for 30 years, to be at last able to understand what all the persons say.
But, second, I will give them to the community here…
CatBus’ advice was to creta a new thread, so we don’t mix the subjects

They’re based on the analog tracks I ripped 30 years ago + the 3 Harmy’s movies for the synchronization, so my subtitles files will follow the version of harmy’s files.
Ex : Episode IV’s version is v2.7, so the subtitles will be v2.7.x

It was a work-in-progress 30 years ago, then abandoned as I couldn’t do better.
And I’m happy to thank here Fred, a friend of mine who uses the AI “whisper”, and CatBus who corrected by ear a lot of mistakes on the two 1st subtitles, who help me finish the transcriptions & fill in the numerous blanks I have.

Then I had to :

  • synchronise them with the audio commentaries timestamps
  • correct some errors –> if you see some others, don’t hesitate to correct them & tell me !
  • add the name & title of the person speaking
  • add the timestamp of the next subtitle
    plus maybe other things I don’t remember.

So yes, any error should be reported so I can correct & update the subtitles on my google drive.

I hope some of you will enjoy to have these 3 files & finally be able to understand better what all these persons involved in doing Star Wars at the time are saying…

For the people who would like to have the “native” audio commentary file, without the dialogs between, here it is :
