Aye, I understand that and I’ve been following the project since before the release of his ANH (just not on this site so yes, it might have been discussed in the earlier 149 pages). His edit ‘philosophy’ so far has been to do better colour grades, enhance the SFX and somewhat revert the SE changes. It’s not listed in his initial post for VI that he wishes to alter the Tatooine part besides getting rid of the horrible SE additions, fix SFX and goofy stunt work. Also no mention of adding deleted scenes (which I believe would be near impossible at this moment, even with the current A.I. tech around).

So yes, it’s an honest question really, I was not trying to police the conversation here, sorry if it came across that way 😃

For sure, he has mentioned some stuff like Boba’s death, removing goofy droid scenes etc and yeah i can’t see anything else in that first post. I know Ady’s refined his vision since then, and given updates on that throught the thread (for instance bruried in this thread he has stated he will not add deleted scenes). Not sure if he has updated the first post or not. But yeah, i agree his philosaphy has alway seemed to be keeping the edits as light as possible and keep a consitant technical quality (colourgrading, fixing static grain, avoiding dnr etc), but there is no doubt this is his biggest project yet, with the most extensive changes and fixes.
At the end of the day we are all SW fans, editing enthusiast and Adywan supporters. His work speaks for itself and his dedication is inspirational. Im sure everyone has some sort of long term project, whether its SW/edit related or not that they share with a comunity a number of reason, and i always find it reasuring to discover people that love what I love as much or more than I do, and all the varing ways they enjoy it with differnt favorite or least favorite parts.

Ady comes in with updates every few months, he doesn’t interact on the forum much at this point in the process.

People can’t help but talk about their hopes for the edit, and then their own ideas, and then the whole thread gets temporarily hijacked into what is effectively someone else’s thread until people point this out. Also people post asking for updates, wondering what the latest is, etc.

I keep the Wordpress updated to include the latest updates from Ady, but that’s not widely shared.

On your February 3rd Facebook post, you said you’d reveal “by the end of the week” what was done to fix the falling gantry, but you never did.

I’ve been following Ady’s work for over a decade now. What I’ve learned is this… “If Adywan says he’s planning to do something, then something will get in his way.”

Have a good read of all his Revisited threads here from the beginning. You will see a man beset by bad luck, faulty equipment, garden fence catastrophe, poor health and family tragedy. But he persists, his work on these edits has almost taken him twenty years.

So assuming he hasn’t been crushed by a falling chandelier, assaulted by a disgruntled chimpanzee, or blinded by an exploding fire extinguisher then updates will be along at some point, I’m sure.

I remember he actually had his external drives fail when he was nearing completion of ANH:R SD, and had to start over. The man is very persevering.

I feel like ady only ever heard the “do” part of yoda’s line. He only do, never do not, never try.

My approach with all things Adywan is to wait two to four months between updates. It’s regular enough, but not surprising when radio silence happens.

I hope it won’t be long now until ANHR:HD. With how long the Revisited project has taken and all the life challenges Ady’s shared, I sometimes worry if he’ll ever be able to finish everything he envisioned.

I mean we already know that isn’t going to happen since he cancelled his PT:R plans

I’ve been quiet because my 43" 4k PC monitor’s backlight died and i have been unable to work on anything or use the internet ( my phone is too small for me to use for the net , even with my glasses 😉 Being old sucks. I’ve had to borrow a small monitor off a friend but only have it for a week, so i may go quiet again until i can afford to replace it

Something i promised to show a while ago but ended up completely forgetting about, was the shot of Luke’s shuttle escaping the Death Star. So here it is:

Original version:

Revisited Version:

That shot took a hell of a lot of work. I had to slow down the gantry and other elements, yet keep the camera movement and the shuttle at the original speed, then track and add the new background. Couldn’t use the original stars to track because they suddenly stop their movement before the end in the original.

It looks perfect. There really isn’t much to say… you’ve done it!

Should we not be able to see Endor in the reflection also…?

Amazing work, sorry to hear about your tech, I suppose its like a overworked pack horse, just can’t handle all the work you put it through xD.
