EDIT: Wow, 200th reply! Crazy to see progress finally happening after all this time! I would like to sincerely thank everyone for the support, be it through donations, first-time advice, or simple words of support/encouragement. I have been quite floored by the relative amount of attention this project has gotten, and I’m excited to finally share it with the people who helped make it a reality.

I’m unfortunately not as comfortable as some others are with the idea of sharing my scans willy-nilly with whoever wants them, but I DO intend on uploading 4k clips to YouTube/Archive and letting people see as much of it as I possibly can. If it leaks… well, frankly, I just might hang myself on-the-spot, but I’m gonna pretend that’s NOT something that could reasonable happen. Stay tuned everybody!

By the way, this is a message to WRDZ/Dexx/whoever else runs the FPRR server on Discord– please unblock me and re-add me to your server so I can kee contact with people there who donated. I genuinely did not do anything wrong and I am so utterly floored by the disrespect I’ve been shown by your people. I have plenty of screenshots as well to show that I was being completely reasonable and didn’t deserve to be booted entirely from your community.

If I don’t hear from any of you soon, I am going to look into sending out mass refunds for the project. This isn’t an empty threat, I have several hundreds of dollars in excess funds due to circumstances surrounding the cleaning/shipping processes, and I will GLADLY do what I can to keep anybody in your server from accessing this labor of love we have worked so hard on, including potentially people who have nothing to do with it. I have no reason to trust anybody in your server won’t try and leak the scan anyways with what’s gone on there in the past, so I am MORE than happy to keep this project within my inner-circle of people at this point.

I want to address the accusations around the Re-Animator leak. Honestly, I find it ironic that my integrity is being questioned. Let me be clear: I did not leak that film. So before throwing out accusations, maybe take a moment to look at the bigger picture and ask: what have you done to move this scene forward?

Let’s stop with the finger-pointing and actually work together. On that note—regarding Toy Story—I thought I had copies of the first and second films, but I was mistaken. If anyone can get me the reels, I’ll scan them for free. Let’s make something positive out of this.

Maybe embracing our passions is the way forward? You guys all thought I was full of shit & it turned out that I was for real. So what you guys unfairly judged me… Happens… But lets all move forward.

The only ones actively contributing are Rob and myself. The key difference is that Rob approaches this purely as a business, aiming to generate profit. In contrast, I operate on a non-profit basis—every donation goes directly toward scanning and raising awareness.

I’m already established and successful in the arts, so for me, film isn’t about money—it’s about passion and purpose. I truly care. Even with our fundraisers, after three months we make the scans freely available to the public, especially for those who can’t afford access.

You put up on your Patreon that you were releasing a 35mm scan of Re-Animator. I still have the screenshot before you took it down when everyone messaged you. It was also posted in the Discord. You were literally trying to make money off the scan I paid a lot of money for. And I know for a fact that you don’t have a scan of it. Especially then. You aren’t very smart.

So did I leak it or not? Did you ever ask your self that the picture was just a picture to throw people off & I released Batman… Dude, I never leaked your film or make money doing this at all. Also, if I wanted a Re-Animator badly with out paying. I would scan my print & scan the film myself.

Honestly, I think maybe do some research on me. I supported your releases not because I needed the film but because you are a fellow fan of scanned films. I actually, I have a massive collection & I am buying prints every day.

I originally came to this site with good intentions. I even started a Patreon to support my scanning efforts. But right after posting, my content was blocked.

So I decided to do my own thing—something a little different from what others are doing—and suddenly I’m getting hit with a wave of criticism.

On top of that, I’ve had moderators threaten me with cease-and-desist notices, and my Vimeo account was taken down.

Meanwhile, there are fundraisers here that haven’t delivered anything in two years. I’ve consistently released a new scan every month at the highest quality. Clearly, I must be doing something right.

Anyways guys,

Lets stop, lets work together? Lets get films scanned. Pointing fingers & just admitting maybe you were wrong is not the end of the world. But that’s it isn’t it, people admitting they were wrong. There should be no egos cause this about the films not us. We didn’t make the films, we are just here to help archive them…

I don’t think you are guilty of taking advantage of anyone. I feel your heart is in the right place. But I do feel you are guilty for poor planning. The way I promise a title is I make sure 100% that I have it in hand & if I can’t delivery. Which so far knock wood hasn’t offer equal to better than title. My members then hold it down for a few months then after that it’s open season for anyone to have.

Honestly unless you are collector & have your own scanner I dont really recommend doing fundraisers… its just too risky and a headache…

The reason why I don’t recommend before people have kittens is due to the fact prices on Ebay are not correct. The price for thrashed prints are 10x the value in some cases. Can you get lucky? Sure… But the way to get titles is basically by trading for other titles. Also for ones who want to rent prints. Again I don’t recommend it becomes pricey.

The key is go on market place be willing to travel & do as much buying in the wild, get a strong 4 or 5 titles & start trading with other collectors… best way… anyways good luck… if you need help let me know…

I’m not sure if I made it clear with my response, but the film has been fully scanned and the final product will be ready for distribution soon. I am referring to drama here that doesn’t involve you, so I respectfully don’t need your input. Also, I started this project two years ago– it was the first one I ever started as well as my entry-point into this community, and I have more experience doing these projects now than when I started this one, so I’m not interested in being talked down to.

Anyways, please quit spamming this thread with responses. They have nothing to do with the project in question. Furthermore, with all due respect, I am not interested in sending you any material for scanning. I have a reliable scanner I’ve worked with for a couple of years now and who I deeply trust by now. Thank you.

Or…you can use the NTSC LaserDiscs of the film to recreate the official aesthetic of 35mm print that Disney used in their pre-2000 masters. Especially since according to the Deluxe CAV Edition LD, many of the raw digital frames done after rendering were instantly transferred over to positive 35mm, since digitally sourced films weren’t a thing back in 1995.
