Personally, I prefer the little specks. It didn't make much sense that they had a lookout right next to the temple(assuming they launch stright from the temple like the games suggest, there's mention of a "launch tube"). It just knid of defeat the point of having one. That, and the fact that he isn't reacting at all to the noise, which should be deafening. The slow launch doesn't work with the music either. But hey, Yavin was among my biggest complaints. I didn't mind the new temple matt painting though.
As for Mos Eisley, I thought the city was far too bustling. It went from deserted little berg to New York. Seeing as it's a small space port on a backwater planet, the old feels more suitable.
