This is my first post on here, so I'll try not to be too dumb.

I love the Se7en and Game DVD sets, but I'm having a small problem. I grabbed all these off of MySpleen over the past couple weeks, and they're great, however, I have burned the first disc of The Game (the actual film) to a Dual-Layered disc, it burns fine, but when played in any DVD player/drive (even the burner and played with PowerDVD) I get the opening disclaimer, your logo, and then it goes to a black screen, but I can hear the menu music. If I am in PowerDVD, I can mouse over where I know the menu items are, and I can click them to start the movie, which plays fine, and if I play it on my DVD player, if I just fiddle with it, go into the system menu a couple times and exit back, eventually I can get the menu to come up. So basically, the disc works fine, except for when it initially loads, the menu graphics do not appear. Has anybody else had a similar problem? Am I doing something asinine? Any help is appreciated.

I don't own dual layer discs (too expensive.. £3..no thanks!) so I used DVD Shrink on the first disc. After comparing the image on the "shrunk" version that fits on a normal DVD R to the downloaded files..... NO DIFFERENCE! Came out great! Can I just say again how billiant this 2 discer is. It's something I've been dying to see for a long time and I wasn't dissapointed in the slightest.

Transfer is brilliant, The menu system again is superbly done, the content is amazing... what more can I say if you don't have this yet... GET IT NOW! :-)

j,

YES! I did! thank you very much!

I'm trying to get another Indy disc out ASAP. I really want to torrent the Making of Temple of Doom. I have some goodies I'd like to throw on there. We'll have to see when I can do that. So much stuff and not enough time to get it out there.

I'll be releasing the Blade Runner: Directors Cut (mastered from HD) this week with some extras.

I'm going on vacation this week so I'll try and get it upped tomorrow night. It will have the original trailer and the DC trailer as extras.

OK here's the deal, folks:

I'm not putting the Blade Runner discs out this week. I've been thinking a lot about it and rather than rush it, I'm going to do it right. I'm also going on a little vacation so I'll be back next week. It will also give Bunnydojo time to work on the menus and exclusive artwork. However, here's what to look forward to.

Disc 1
Movie (mastered from HD, 5.1 Surround)
Original Trailer
Director's Cut Trailer
"Future Shocks" documentary

Disc 2
"On The Edge of Blade Runner" documentary
"Hooray For Hollywood" special

Not sure what else on the second disc. I don't have much more room at this point. Might just put some DVD-Rom bonus features on there.

Take your time, get it perfect. And enjoy your vacation.

I'm really looking forward to this one - Disc 2 looks like a great bonus too. I haven't seen the 'Edge' since it was first broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK. I haven't seen the Future Shocks doc at all.

Will this be up on MySpleen ?
where have i been all this time ?

you know it

looks like the Hooray For Hollywood won't fit on the 2nd disc. That's completely full. I will try and fit it on the first disc.

I have a quick question..

This is a DL DVD. Is the layer change determined in the authoring program by the author, or is it determined by the burning program.

I was going to add a file to the DVD_ROM folder, create an ISO and burn with DVD Decrypter.

I'm just curious as to where the layer change will occur. Thanks.

where have i been all this time ?

I did the layer change. It actually happens on a fade out so you shouldn't even notice it.

An update:
I'm back from vacation and as soon as i get the menu screens for Blade Runner, I will start seeding it.

I'll say right off that this is going to sound completely insane, but bear with me:

DF, your release of Blade Runner is kind of a unique situation as far as fan-releases go, because you're using an HD source, so what I was wondering was, besides a standard DVD release, would it be possible to do an xvid release as well, but in a large filesize (eg 4.37 gigs), in order to preserve the quality of the source as much as possible? Just a thought.

I've never done Xvid. As far as I know, Quicktime is the only one that can do an HD version on one disc and to be honest, I have too many other "releases" i'd like to deal with. This BR thing just kinda happened quickly and I'm doing it quickly. Sorry.

I was looking through my junk and I found a disc I labelled "Blade Runner HD XVID." I forgot I tried making an xvid version from the HD files I downloaded. Looking at it, the video looks pretty good. I didn't know how to make an xvid, so I just used one of those automatic programs. The bad thing is there's an annoying gray bar at the bottom. I guess it wouldn't be hard to crop out though.

I posted this in The Game thread. I don't want to be greedy. I've just been looking for these forever.

------
I see that all of digitalfreaknyc's stuff is on torrent but I don't have a burner nor 8g of space. Can someone burn me The Game and Se7en 2-discs? I don't have anything for trade but I'm sure we can work something out...

IM me or PM me.

Hey DFNYC

I realise you have a huge amount on your plate at present, but I was wondering if there was any update on your other Indiana Jones stuff that hasn't been posted at MySpleen?

Either way, keep up the great work!

Yes. I'm actually waiting on Babyhum to see if his master of the making of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is better than mine. If it is, then i'll use his. That disc will also contain the teaser trailer that hasn't been released on DVD, along with two ABC previews from the first airings on US TV and possibly one other trailer.

The 2nd Indy disc will be the original Electronic Press Kit for the film. I will try and get the two Indy discs out around the same time but again, waiting on Babyhum.

Ooo that babyhum

I've managed to lay my hands on a copy of the DVD EPK Footage - pretty poor tbh but I'm thinking of doing a straight DVD transfer anyway to go with the mega-indy-boxset I putting together for a mate for christmas -

Thanks again.
