How would have felt about that?
I am split, part of me thinks it would have been a powerful moment, and maybe elevated ROTJ up to Star Wars & ESB status, but I love the ending (pre-Hayden Christenson Ghost), when they are hugging and finally beaten the Empire. In a sense it was great closure to a great trilogy, having Han Solo die maybe would have been anti-climatic.
