Please be gentle if this is a dumb question, but my knowledge of video formats, codecs and containers are limited.
In the folder there are two version, one in ProRes.mkv and one in MOV. I grabbed the first one since mkv is a format I’m used to, but noticed something strange when I started to watch: It seems my left speaker is the main one for sound and talking, not my center speaker.
I tried to download the MOV-version and everythings seems (and sounds!) fine, with the sound coming from the center.
Is there something wrong with the ProRes.mkv-version or is it just my computer that can’t handle ProRes?
Hi there. Thanks for the message. You’re right, the mkv format does have the sound anomaly you describe. Handbrake must have altered the channels when compressing it from ProRes. I’ve deleted the mkv, just use the .mov - they’re the same resolution anyway.
