Everyone should be able to re-enjoy a movie as he saw it in theatres on release. Some subsequent alterations from studios or directors are sometimes questionable.
Fan edits became possible and accessible with computers and digital medias. I just discovered this whole new hobby for ones, and eden for others.
I hope we’ll have a lot of enjoyment together!

I’ve always hoped Disney would pull the original trilogy out of the vault… as each day goes by it looks less and less likely.

Hey All! Checking in from Pacifica California.
Watched the originals in the theatrical first runs for each. Nothing line the line that ran around the theater, across the parking lot and down the side of the adjacent buildings to the General Cinema in Tulsa. Along with the blasting arc lights during the first couple of weeks next to the theater at night. Few things left such an impression after those showings.

Hello fellow Star Wars fans! I came here because I was looking for a way to see the original theatre versions of the films, but I am seeing so much general information that I am definitely going to take the time to read and find out what’s going on in this community.

I was born in 1970 and Star Wars was the first film I ever saw in a movie theater back in 1977. It set me up as a lifetime fan of many things science fiction and fantasy! I remember the first time I heard of Star Wars as being referred to as “A New Hope” and at first what was being talked about if there was some other Star Wars film that was being made.

I look forward to participating in some discussions and checking out the projects that have been completed be those who are restoring the original works. May the force be with you all!

Hi Everyone. I joined about a year ago but was not ready to work through the process of downloading Project 4k77 or Harmie’s Despecialized. I now have the PC hardware needed to download and start my home media server. I would appreciate help getting the files downloaded. The first movie I saw in the theaters when I was 3 years old was Return of the Jedi. I have been a fan ever since and miss the original trilogy without all the bad CGI

Good evening everyone! Glad to get around to connecting with SW fans and getting an opportunity to watch the original trilogy as close to what they were during first release. Happy father and husband, when I’m not adulting I’m collecting Star Wars Black Series figures and other collectibles/novelties.

Hi everyone. I am old enough to remember the original trilogy and was bewildered and alienated by the many edits George Lucas did to the films. I had just about given up hope of ever being able to relive those memories and share them with future generations, but was fortunate enough to hear of this community and the good work they have been doing. I haven’t felt this excited for a film in a long time. Thanks!

First watch Star Wars about 30 years ago when I was working at a department store and the Bose room would play it on repeat.

Greetings Original Trilogy! Growing up my father used to play the original trilogy in the background but I didn’t quite understand the story until a teenager where I was able to make Revenge of the Sith the highlight of my Star Wars knowledge. As an adult, I feel like I’m just now grasping the story of Star Wars because I missed out on a lot of years thinking I wouldn’t be a fan. Better late than never. May the 4th Be With You!

Too many times have I seen this site, but never stayed past a few clicks. Today I watched the trilogy on the ol’ VHS '97 special edition and got concerned about the tape’s remaining life. I felt bad for watching one tape, but I can’t just not watch them all.

“Why not watch it in high quality next time” I thought to myself.
I’ve seen mentions of restoration projects on the interweb, with them having links to here. If I can choose one restoration project to view, then why stop at the original trilogy? I’ve never seen the Diney Trilogy, despite receiving the collection on disk from the office Christmas party.
Maybe I can find a total cut of the sequel trilogy, with a few parts translated or dubbed.

I will look for those here, and start my return to loving Star Wars.
A Nu Start.
