^i prefer when titles are “simple,” so this woulda been what I went with, if it were up to me.
For me, it’s not that I like simple titles, it’s that I like the cohesion of the titles. It feels like they all just fit.
(And not gonna lie, your “the” titles are way better than mine.)
I finally watched Kenobi, despite being very fanfilm like i liked Obi Wan’s relationships with the other characters, especially Leia. I liked him grieving Anakin and realizing Anakin made a choice to be evil, to become Vader. He had to forgive himself. The worst aspect is the inquisitors you could cut them entirely, and just have Vader tracking him with probes or a bounty hunter. Also the lack of Star Warsy music there was none beyond Williams theme for Obi- Wan. The fighting style for the lightsaber duels was wrong and if they wanted it to look OT should have visually followed the style of Rogue One. Design wise it also looked fanfilm from poor choreography, to designs that didn’t look Star Wars. and Obi-Wan not developing a relationship with Luke is a joke. But i do think Ewan and Hayden were good.
Also the shaky cam and lightsabers looked like a fanfilm.
Cinematography and detail were stunning for Blu-Ray.
For a not necessary character Reva holds her own, her wanting revenge on Vader is a believable motivation, despite her evil acts in trying to harm or kill children. They make more sense than Anakin learn the dark side to save Padme, and then him crushing her neck with the dark side because of his posessiveness. Then Padme dying of a broken heart.
I’m watching Andor next.

Hayden and Ewan narrowly saved the show for me. Their incredible acting and then Hayden’s tall frame and Vader walks that made him super intimidating. I thought that exploring the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan was really nice and thoughtful, but it didn’t go deep enough in my opinion. Just thinking about the tv show… I mean there is just so much history there. They DEF should have cut all the Inquisitor stuff. Reva is a cool character, but she did not work for this particular show. This show needed to ONLY focus on Vader and Obi-Wan (with a touch of Leia. There is so much history there that needed to be addressed.
One of the most hilarious scenes to me is when the inquisitors chastise Reva for harshly interrogating the citizens of Tatooine. Did they forget that they’re evil? For Vader, their boss, that’s a Tuesday when he’s in a good mood (though obviously without the yelling and overly wordy speech).

My Star Wars Fan-Edits
Did a re-watch of it recently. I enjoyed it immensely more on a second viewing. While I still find some of the duels and sets to be rather low budget in feel compared to the films, I connected more with Kenobi this time around and him being a father figure to Leia. I love when he tells her what parts of her are Padme and Anakin, that he can see in her both her parents’ gifts as he called them. That was a real touching scene.

I honestly don’t understand how it looked as low budget as it did at times. The first fight between Obi-Wan and Vader in that quarry literally looked like a fan film. Like, how do you get Ewan McGregor back and not give this project all you’ve got? If they could do it for Andor they could have done it for this.
Also, while we all know that the prequels and the OT don’t line up perfectly, the events of this show take it way too far. Leia having a whole adventure with Obi-Wan as a kid is ridiculous. In ANH she only knows Obi-Wan by name and reputation. She’s really not upset at his death in ANH because she never knew him.
And Obi-Wan fighting Vader between the PT and OT makes Vader’s line about only having been a pupil when they last saw each other even more ridiculous. I guess you could say that it never made sense in light of the fact that in the PT Anakin already saw himself as a master, and in many ways, superior to Obi-Wan but still.
This show needed to have way smaller stakes. Obi-Wan having to find his faith again was a good angle to take and it humanized him a lot. Throwing Vader in there was a total overkill. If they had to have a big villain then it should have been Maul but Rebels prevented them from doing that. And if anybody had to have a duel with Vader then it should have been Ahsoka but again, Rebels already did that as well.
