Am I the only one who thinks King Kong could be overrated? I checked rottentomato, and reviewers are toting it as the "best movie evar." Could I be the only one who feels that this may not be as good as the hype?

It's unfair to judge a movie before you've even seen it, but it is possible! I have to admit, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the critics were blowing it way out of proportion. I kind of feel like everyone's just getting in line to kiss Jackson's feet. Empire listed Bad Taste as the 11th best indie film of all time. I guarantee you that the movie wouldn't even have made the list if RotK hadn't swept the Oscars. People forget that, before LotR, Jackson was a completely worthless director, and Bad Taste is a great example.

It's really hard to tell, with directors like Jackson, when critics are actually being serious about what they say, and when they're just trying to play suck up. That's why we need to see it ourselves, so that we can judge it on our own.

Also, Yoda, I agree with you completely about Narnia.
