It was translated and written by humans, who have an unfortunate tendency to consider all beings of greatness to be male. Plus, it is explained in that same book that God is not limited to what is found in human beings. God would be neither male nor female, but instead something greater.
And God must be asexual, as why would God have any use for sex?
