The escape from the trash machine needs to be included and there isn’t enough footage between the kids reuniting and discovering their ship to cut everything else without it feeling jarring. I hate it when they mess around with the main starship, it really limits editing options - I had the same issue with Mando Season 2.
Yeah, this is what I was afraid of. Plus, it would be strange to have them land outside of the pipes right next to their ship, and have the mountain disappear for the rest of the shots.
I think another way forward here is to figure out if there is a clever way to cut away from their talk next to the chutes before they split up, and then when we transition back to the kids when they’re climbing up that snowy hill together. But that just raises questions as to how the ship got from up above to down below!
I think depending on the final episode will determine if I’ll think it’s warranted to keep a movie edit of this show. Everything seemed to be working quite well up until last week, like you said.
