Exciting concept. I have often found that script writing can be more complicated than editing since 1. It’s easier to watch something than to read it, and 2. the control you have over somebody’s perception is more skewed in screenwriting.
However, this is a great way to learn and practice crucial writing skills. I’d suggest that all my students try to emulate scripts based on a movie, and they choose to emulate a film style like this or write sequels. It’s incredible what people can come up with, especially the youth.
