Here's a quote I found on IGN, reviewing the new DVD set coming out:

"The only possible way a smaller collection might prove a valuable investment is if Lucas loosed his stranglehold on the true "original" films (sans CGI enhancements, etc.) and issued them in a succinct sister set to last year's deluxe Trilogy DVDs."

I have been trying to find more reviews of the new (or the same) DVD set, and I am interested if each review mentions why there isn't the O-OT on DVD. If a majority of them takes their shots at the SE changes, then all of our hard work may be building up support for our cause.

Keep fighting guys, one day it will all be worth it.

This may or may not be a common occurence with every/any review, but I have a review of the 2004 DVD Trilogy in a DVD review mag over here, where on their review they said under strict instructions from Lucasfilm and Fox, they were only allowed to view the first-half hour of each episode plus the extras despite pleas from them, so they couldnt confirm the new changes to the quote "much maligned Special Editions of the 90s".

so reviewers may not have been/be able to comment much...

That's the philosophy I live by. For the longest time no body believe that the show "Invader Zim" would be put on DVD, but that was proven wrong. *hugs her zim dvd's*

I am noticing more and more people who they themselves are noticing that the trilogy has changed since they saw it when they were kids. Something in the hearts of us all are stirring and the word is getting out.

You know Lucas is going to make even more changes, and with each new change he makes the more aware the public becomes that this is not the Original Trilogy. Lucas is digging his own grave here.

That new set is a prime example of the horrible trend of double-dipping in DVD retail. Why can't they just release a definitive release of a movie and let it be? First, they put out a barebones version and then a year later, it's the Deluxe, Super, Collector's Edition of the movie. Is that really neccesary? We're not made out of money!!!

With SW, I understand the 4 disk release....that's great if you want to see the movies now instead of waiting for some kind of set with all 6 movies, but this new 3 disk release is silly and just money grabbing.
