X-Men 3 trailer

Yeah, I guess one of the big changes that Brett Ratner enacted was to have the actors do a majority of their own stunts instead of CGing the whole affair. I give him snaps on that decision. And Kelsey Grammar looks badass as Beast.

I think it looks pretty solid. Whether it is or not remains to be seen, but for the time being it looks good. I went to the Xmansion while I was in BC, and some of the other locations.
And I dance. And I sing.
And I'm a monkey, in a long line of kings.

I was thinking the very same thing. As I watched the trailer I was surprised at how much it still looked like Bryan Singer's visual style, but then I read the "we want it to look totally differnent" line in an interview and I immediately thought "Oh great, new director tries to put his style all over an established one."

After I got over that "Schumaker sticker shock" I realized a few things. Ratner, who isn't all that imaginitive a director, did do a good job making Red Dragon look and feel a LOT closer to Silence of the Lambs. Hopefully he's respecting the look and feel and, as Bossk cited, is making some GOOD decisions like more tactile, less CG-driven stuff. Then when I saw Beast, I actually had a very good vibe. Considering the character was cut from both 1 and 2 because he was going to be such an expensive, all CG-character, I'm glad somebody realized all he needs is a good makeup job and the right actor to make him believable.

I hope this movie doesn't suck. The trailer gives me a LOT of hope for the first time. And I'm still worried about Superman, 'cause that trailer didn't show us anything.

Yeah, good points all around.

I really like the music at the end of the trailer, not sure what its from but the way it keeps trailing off is freaky and cool

he wanted to, but Fox wanted the movie ASAP and gave him an ultimatium, forced him to choose either to do X3 or superman.

I would of prefered he stick with Xmen since I don't care about supes, but I understand his reasons for leaving.

They ran this on AOTS on Monday night. Looks really good, in spite of Ratner's involvement.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Have you seen Manhunter? In spite of being made in the 80s and bearing all the vestiges of being an 80s film, far superior. I prefer Brian Cox's interpretation of Hannibal Lecter.

I haven't seen Red Dragon, but loved the book. After the butcher job that was Hannibal, I refused to see any more Hannibal Lecter films. I did see Manhunter and thought it was okay. Nothing great. But decent.

One david Hayter also known to gamers as solid snake did not write the screenplay he did a wonderful job with the first two, secondly no bryan singer involved. It will be a miracle if they don't screw this one up, I mean the last film was just too good on all levels how can It be topped?

also don't know if a director who has no real connection to sci fi films or comic books was the best choice.

Maybe he's good for killing people movies and horror films, but I still don't get why he's doing x men.

Let us not forget, Ratner was attached to Superman before Singer was. It's like Musical Comic Book Movie Chairs.

I agree, X2 was perfect, even if singer was involved there's really no way to top X2

What do you guys think of Kelsey Grammer being Beast? I've pictured Beast to be muscular while Kelsey...is not. Although, he'll definitely have the intellectual side down, that's for sure.

I think Grammar will be good. Musculature can be made up through foam rubber. Having a strong personality and commanding presence is not as easy. Grammar has both in spades.
