Both were 10/10! Cut right to the good stuff, and the edits are invisible. It has pretty much all the info you need to know for season 3 and yet is still paced very well. I had a great time. Thank you, and happy Star Wars Day!

I agree. It was set up for an amazing finale, but they just didn’t deliver.
We should have had a major clone rebellion, Rex and his crew should have been involved and at least one of the batch should have died. And Ventress should have tied into Omega’s future. And I can’t believe alpha didn’t make an appearance!
While I don’t think there is anything your edit can do about this, I definitely got the feeling that the writers didn’t know this was going to be the final season until they were already well into producing the season.
I get the vibe that they had to pivot and the finale we got wasn’t the finale that was planned, but who knows.
Some of the outside scenes in the clone hideout episode match the hanger lighting when the Zillo breaks out. Trying to see if theres a way that Clone force 99 calls in reinforcements and they show up to help. It just kills me that when echo joined them for the mission they didn’t think to bring Rex or the other clones. It’s not like his whole reason for fighting is to save clone lives. If theres any way at all to insert some of those scenes into the finale it would be worth it.
Your Bad Batch fanedits are the best TV-to-movie Star Wars fanedits I’ve seen, and I’ve only ever seen the TV shows as movies, so that’s saying something. Your Episode II particularly was a stroke of genius in that I couldn’t imagine what you could have possibly cut as it all worked so well as a movie - and a good one at that.
I’m very excited for a season 3 movie.

It’s just not an option for me. It would take some serious special effects to pull that off. I’m just an amateur editor, I have to work with what Lucasfilm gives me 😞.

Thanks so much Martin. I’ll be back onto episode 3 at the end of the month. I’m just finishing off a Clone Wars project that I’ve been itching to complete for a while.

I’m pretty sure they always knew this would be the final season. But I agree it was very odd to leave so many threads hanging which could have easily been tied together.

Does anyone have the links to these edits pls?
Thanks
Very excited for this. Could I get a link please?
This looks great! Really excited to check it out, any chance I could get a link? Thanks!
Hello! Looking for a link, sent you a message!
Just watched these. Despite being a TCW fan, didn’t enjoy this series. However, what you have done is incredible! An extremely enjoyable & professional edit from beginning to end. Can’t wait for E3…

Hi all, just thought I’d offer an update on the Season 3 edit.
I have completed by third cut and got it down to 2h 50. Slightly over my 2h45 target, but there is a lot to fit in.
The rough outline is
Act 1: Escape from Tantiss & Reunion
Act 2: Reconciliation & Omega’s Capture
Act 3: Return to Tantiss
Basic Premise:
If anyone wants to offer feedback I have an SD, centre channel-only version available to view. It’s entirely music free and is actually really cool to watch it.
My plan is to slowly go thought it over the next few weeks to add the other 5 channels and sort out music transitions, although Skeleton Crew will be taking priority.

That sounds awesome! I really appreciate all the hard work you put into these edits, I loved your take on Seasons 1 & 2, and I’m very excited to see your film trilogy of the show finalized!
Big fan of a lot of your stuff. Personally, I am not a big fan of just adding scenes so characters have screen time. It was my biggest problem with BB2 that those Phee and Batch scenes in the first half felt so disjointed/disconnected.
On to it! Been looking forward to this. As always, thanks Smudger9 😃

This sounds awesome! Would very much help me in my quest to get my gf into Star Wars. Please PM me when you can!
I’ve restarted work on episode 3. I’m going through to addd in 5.1 audio. It’s pretty slow work because there is constant music in the BB, and with so many edits there is a lot to do. Almost half way through!

Further Update… The project is still being worked on. I’ve finally made it to the final act, which is the final 2 episodes. The middle act took a lot of work on the audio because of the sheer number of cutsand story changes, but it’s done. The final act should be a lot quicker.
However, it’ll go on the back burner as of tomorrow because it’ll be full steam ahead with Andor Season 2.

Is it realistic to wrap up all the plot threads that go unresolved?
Either way I am fully on board with your focus being on Andor. I fully expect it to have stronger content versus Bad Batch season 3.
With the Maul show and Ventress’ Tales story taking place in the same timeframe, it seems like they are not quite done with this part of the timeline. Fingers crossed.

I haven’t attempted to address the dead-end plots. They may be revisited in the future in some other form, but for this edit I’ve focused on the core story, which is the Bad Batch and Tantiss.
No Ventress, No Fennec, no Cad Bane, no Wolfe.
