I was actually thinking about this the back when Tim first starting posting about this. I think it’d be interesting to try and basically create a virtual “studio” in Blender, and animate the ships in a way that simulates the way the Dykstraflex worked. Work within the limitations of that old technology to get emulate the way the ships and camera moved in those classic shots. Then any of us that has some blender experience could just collaborate on making the shots.
I think it would then just be a matter of finding high quality cgi models of the ships to use. Making cgi models is out of my realm of expertise though.
