The Mummy - HD-DVD Hybrid Project ..... (* unfinished project *)

Okay,

I know some folks have been reading and watching some of this.  DoomBot and myself have been wanting to do these as we go and it doesn’t always materialize quickly as is so often the case here … never a bad thing though.

Silverwook sent me his DVD and I figured out how to rip the ISO score from that Collector’s Edition.  dark_jedi had his own ripped and was kind enough to share the fruits of his labor with me.  I suggested to him that he should do the Bluray version of this project while we do the HD-DVD version.  This way there will be 2 versions for those who have a love for this film and would like both.

My question to anyone reading in interest is this … what audio versions and subtitles would you like to see with this?  I will attempt to do the artwork and the menus for this myself … we’ll see how that goes, LOL.

😃

Silverwook, a server issue caused it to post like 5 of the same threads, could you delete the others?  Thanks

Sweet!  More cinema audio and isolated score!

I would love to get the cinema audio for Returns as well.

Can't I go out for a little while on Saturday night, without this place descending into utter chaos? ;)

Jetrell, DoomBot, I'll suggest you to do your own spoRv edition (this is not my trademark, so you could use it as well!): just include english, german, french, italian and spanish audio and sub tracks, and it's done! (^^,) I could always provide the latter three languages immediately, and find the german one in few time... just my 2c!

Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash… 😦 | [Fundamental Collection] thread | blog.spoRv.com | fan preservation forum: fanres.com

I'm interested. I have both the HDDVD and BD but the best from both worlds and the DVD would be great. Especially with the cinema dts.

My mouth is watering for this project... I bet it's gonna look and sound super tasty!  :-D

Hi,

It just has to happen I have this already.

I did a Remux from the HD-DVD video into the Blu-Ray.

I just have to check how it exactly looks like. Maybe I can save you some time.

I did the same thing actually. i used the HD-DVD video (for original caption subtitles, not player generated ones) and added the BD DTS-MA audio to it

I am using the HD-DVD video with all of it's audio/subtitle stuff and adding the cinema DTS and the Bluray DTS.

An all in one really.  It will end up in a bluray format of course but it will be a hybrid.

Just wondering why you are preserving the HD-DVD version. Is it better than the Blu-Ray?

@Neon,

In the end, I wanted another version that had better source quality video and some extra audio options not available in all formats.  A pet project I guess that has garnered interest by others.

DNR strikes again. Wow. This is why I still have my DVHS DTheater tape of U-571. The HD-DVD is DNR'd and the BD is even more MORE SO!

I know The Mummy did get a DVHS release but since no-one has been able to offer up a capture of it this is the best we can get outside of an actual film print.

Is someone here set up to capture such a tape if it comes up on Ebay?

This project is not yet finished.

First and foremost, I came under hard times.  Next, I couldn't find anyone willing to help with menus and such.  I still have all the files I need to finish.  It has taken longer than I've wanted it to even but circumstance weigh-laid an earlier completion date.

Keep an eye on this thread.  Members here will be the first to know.

I know that this film got a LD release... Is there analog LD audio that's worth a capture?

Also, I have the Ultimate Edition DVD.  If there is any interest... or if it's not too late, I'd be happy to share the DTS 5.1 audio from that disc for inclusion in this project.

The only one of the many DVD releases of this film with a DTS track (as far as I know) and it's a killer!
