Even with three finals today, I've had a lot of time to post and read posts today. And while this doesn't have to do with General Star Wars, it has to do with this section of the board. And I just have to say... DAMN! I'd wager this has probably been the least useful day of posting ever. Not exactly the word I'm looking for, but I'm trying to avoid being insulting because that's exactly all that's gone on today. And it's started out like any other day mostly. Somehow, Adam pisses somebody off, and debate ensues. Today, Adam seemed to piss off a few dozen posters, most of whom have only been here for a month or two if that, and we've fallen immediately into bickering and name-calling. Every single thread I've read today contains back and forth insults and swearing and I admit I thought it was funny at first, but I just came back now, and I realized that this is completely stupid. It's relatively entertaining when it happens in one thread, but it's going on in several threads in this section, and another one in the Theatrical Cuts vs. Special Edition section. It's just getting completely out of hand. How about everyone around here just tries to be mature around here and...

Yeah, it's college finals. Sorry for going crazy like that, and I really don't mind the kind of behavior from Adam that most people find volatile (and a lot of the time I think it's simply because he's expressing a viewpoint different from ours, even though oftentimes I admit he seems to be trying to rile us up) if it leads to reasonably intelligent discussion of opinions, but when all it does is inspire, "Shut up, motherf****** c***sucker!" it's time something was said and done on both sides!.

I agree wholeheartedly. Just as soon as Adam gets banned.

He starts threads to incite arguements. Notice that most of the threads he starts revolve around OOT vs SE or OT vs PT. The two subjects that are MOST likely to get an arguement started around here. Now, I've argued quite a bit on the subject since I've been a member here, but Adam is the only poster that has pushed further than friendly, if heated debate. And what's funny is I'm not the only one who that has happened to. Adam starts this stuff and then usually makes some condescending statement that riles the feathers of some.

I can count on one hand how many posts he's made that don't concern the PT vs OT issue. By now, I think he knows that the majority of ppl here feel the PT isn't that great and the SEs are also not that great, so why does he continue to post the same subject matter time after time again?

The answer is simple.....he's a troll. Ban him.

I find you all really hard with Adam.
I think he doesn't incite fights. It's just that he really likes the SE and the PT (stop me if I'm wrong Adam), and you all don't. Every single time he give his opinion on a thing he likes, a lot of members come to tell him to "shut up" and "the OOT is great, anything else is shit", "Lucas is evil", blablabla...

The real trouble is that a lot of members (not ALL the members, of course) are intolerant and pretty much rude, and are just "hardcore haters" (there's even a topic just on that! incredible!), and jump on every "new-SW-stuff" lover to kick his ass... Some of these guys maybe sould create another website for "Lucas hating" activities, I don't know...

All I want to say is: calm down.
I've already said it and I say it again, SW is just entertainment, don't take it too seriously please. Of course you don't have to LOVE all that has been done, but repeating endlessly that you hate Lucas, PT and SE is really too much... one time suffices...

To conclude in a Yoda style: "Respect everyone's opinion, you must..."

I wouldn't be so pissed at him if he didn't put his high-and-mighty hat on all the time and act like his opinions are any better than ours. I really couldn't care less about his particular opinions regarding the movies. It's this stuff I'm talking about:

Of course I counter acted that with my earlier line when Palpatine turns to Anakin and says, "Oh Anakin, I have good news." I shouted out "I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance!" The whole row cracked up.

When Obi-Wan says "The Sith are evil!" and Anakin retorts with "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" I just had to sarcastically shout out "Oooo! Obi-Wan got buuurned!"

When Palpatine says that he's giving Anakin a new title of head-whatever-of the Jedi councel Anakin woodenly says, "I'm overwhelmed." I just said to myself, "Yeah, I can tell..."

And of course Grevous sounds just like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. I can't STAND it. Everything he said I swore he was going to end with "For me to poop on!"

God ROTS sucked ass. It is the ONLY Star Wars movie that I actually fast forward though. Even TPM I can sit through the whole thing... But ROTS.... nope. When I walked out of the theater I thought it was the best of the 3 (which isn't say much) but now that I've seen it 3 times. I hate it more than I hate the other two movies. And that is painfuly sad.

Nanner is right....here's some more examples of Adam's bullshit.....

The point is, someone (gasp) watched them in order, (gasp) liked the prequels, and (gasp) liked and saw them as one saga because they were a new viewer, with none3 of that "I am your father" childhood nostalgia affecting them. They saw them how they were meant to be seen. Boy, would I love to havce been them!


This is just blatant asking for trouble. He is dismissing what many of us think because of our "childhood nostalgia." Real good arguement.

He talks in interviews of how happy he is with the PT, but how disappointed he initially was with the OT. I'm actually proud that he got full control to do whatever he wanted, and didn't listen to any of his co-workers, or any fanboys when making his decisions.


He's proud, huh? Maybe Adam is trying to say....Lucas is doing what he wants and giving all of you a great big middle finger. HAHAHAH!!! I know he didn't say that....not exactly anyway.

Another example of Adam's quick wit and charm....

What he wants IS the movie. It doesn't matter what outside sources say like "Well, we all made you who you are so you should give us what we want." You chose to see the movie, he profited, and he makes the decisions because he owns it. He gets exactly what he wants, and we merely have to deal with it. Case closed.


He makes a good point, but does he have to rub our faces in shit with the Case Closed bit.

I have a problem with him burying Lucas elsewhere then coming on here and acting as he if is wonderful like i have said, I find it disrespectful of the people who on this very site who have given/give up time and money to preserve this Trilogy for him to trash it and have this attitude of his on the same very site,

I may or may not hate the SE and Prequels probably as much as some, and have no problem at all with different opinions at all but it is this I am right all time preachy attitude he has, you are all wrong, and then when comes up with crap like we love and hate things becasue of nostalgia etc etc

I generally disagree with everything AWK says.

However, responding to his posts is optional. I usually choose not to.

I suggest the rest of you try the same if you find his posts combative or instigative.

To be quite honest, I see more personal attacks toward AWK than from him, and they're usually without sufficient provocation.

Sigh, I didn't start this thread so that everyone would bring their problems over here. Yet almost immediately, the bashing and namecalling starts again! And I agree with Jay. I think things have shifted, and Adam's getting more flack than he's giving. So I'm glad Jay's stepped in to do what I can't.
