According to TV Guide and TV Land, The Star Wars Holiday Special is at number 59 on the top 100 Unexpected Television Moments. The 5 - Part special will air December 5-9, 2005. This means that they may in fact show some footage from it!!!!!! And... possibly a short Lucas interview!!! I'm setting the TiVO!!!!!

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Adam...you're the only person I know who wets his pants for the Holiday Special......
why do i feel so much more affection to something as bad the holiday special and not to the prequels. i know why because the holiday special were inadvertantly bad while the prequels were made bad on purpose
So did anybody watch #59 last night? I did and was sad that they didn't show any clips. They only showed pictures. It looks like Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher did the special, but it looks like Mark Hamill took a rain check on that appearence. Glad I've never seen it.
Yes. I watched it, and recorded it. I cracked up seeing co-writer Bruce Vilanch do his wookiee impression saying that wookiees "sound like fat people like me having orgasms." And then of course the guy at the end of that segment saying "Lucas needs to come clean. He likes to pretend it doesn't exist. But it does, because I've seen it!" But, it was too bad they didn't show any footage, but, of course, I'm sure Lucas was the cause of that.

No, Mark was in it, but from the pictures I've seen, he just looks really... weird in it.

Yeah, I just found out that Mark was actually in the special. It's just that his hair is...all wrong. I don't understand. It looks so weird. And the make-up people put WAY too eye liner on him. I always thought it was some efeminate weirdo that played Luke. But damn! I know he had a car accedent a year before, but he looks nothing like he does in the other movies. It's so...weird. I mean, damn, it just. Doesn't. Look. Like. Him. And I don't know why! It's almost like we caught him in between his final reconstruction surgeries.
Don't tell me that this isn't freaky. Will someone please tell me what is wrong here? Is it the hair, the eye liner, what? How did we go from this cutie:
Assuming we throw out the Holiday Special as canon, I always liked the way his accident/face reconstruction was worked into the storyline via the Wampa attack.
By the way, for all those interested, the entire 1 minute 32 second clip has just been posted at starwarsholidayspecial.com. Click on the below, and scroll down to the "video" section to download it:
