Yeah, I guess one of the big changes that Brett Ratner enacted was to have the actors do a majority of their own stunts instead of CGing the whole affair. I give him snaps on that decision. And Kelsey Grammar looks badass as Beast.

I was thinking the very same thing. As I watched the trailer I was surprised at how much it still looked like Bryan Singer's visual style, but then I read the "we want it to look totally differnent" line in an interview and I immediately thought "Oh great, new director tries to put his style all over an established one."
After I got over that "Schumaker sticker shock" I realized a few things. Ratner, who isn't all that imaginitive a director, did do a good job making Red Dragon look and feel a LOT closer to Silence of the Lambs. Hopefully he's respecting the look and feel and, as Bossk cited, is making some GOOD decisions like more tactile, less CG-driven stuff. Then when I saw Beast, I actually had a very good vibe. Considering the character was cut from both 1 and 2 because he was going to be such an expensive, all CG-character, I'm glad somebody realized all he needs is a good makeup job and the right actor to make him believable.
I hope this movie doesn't suck. The trailer gives me a LOT of hope for the first time. And I'm still worried about Superman, 'cause that trailer didn't show us anything.
