Yes, it would be better if there was no absolute canon. Every attempt at a canon contradicts itself and there is no other series that has been retconned into oblivion as SW. It’s ridiculous. I can’t take any of these new books/comics/ games seriously anymore. Ever since ROTJ with Leia being Luke’s sister star wars has been retconned because she was not originally intended to be the sister. Not to mention how Lucas regularly contradicts the Clone Wars books/comics with his cartoon show which is hilarious because it really shows how much contempt he has for the readers and writers. There should only be a “canon” on a story by story basis. This mess is what happens when you let hundreds of writers play in your sandbox only for Lucas to exploit the work for $$$, then turn around and dismiss those stories just to tell his own, which was infinitely inferior. The best attempt at a consistent canon was between 1983 and 1998. After ROTJ and before the prequels. It was pretty consistent then.
