I would recommend it, but it is still far from perfect and that is because the source material was not the best.
I believe Kai said that he was fine with most of the show, it just needed its fat trimmed. I’m inclined to agree with that assessment. To your point, see the following article which seems to suggest that the tactic you’re referring to is exactly what Thrawn does. It just isn’t as effective or precise without more Star Destroyers.
As for my own thoughts on this edit, I thought it was wonderful. Took the show from a 7/10 (due to it dragging on) to a 9/10. I do have a couple issues with it, though:
- The title crawl won’t stop BOLDING text! LMAO. It’s honestly kind of comical. I didn’t count how many phrases were bolded, but it was definitely more than I’ve ever seen from any other movie. Real Star Wars crawls are much more reserved than this. The only thing that needed to be bolded was probably the Star Map MacGuffin.
- Stormtroopers appear out of nowhere in the middle of Ahsoka’s fight with Morgan from where the characters just came from. Up until that point, we’re meant to assume Morgan and the two Death Troopers are the only ones being left behind according to what Thrawn says. We also see these same stormtroopers (and the Death Troopers) acting being zombies without much of an explanation. I wonder if it’s possible to add a shortened version of the fight at the base of the tower to fix these issues.
