Hmm, just something i found interesting:
Here is a comparison between the 4K Dremastered edition and the normal Extended Edition (with the green tint) showing one of the Galadriel scenes in Lothlórien:

Honestly, i like the extended edition better (only for this scene and a couple others tho, i do genuinely admire this project). But in the extended edition, Galadriel is just so much more detailed compared to the Dremastered version - i mean, its not even close.
I get that Lothlórien is SUPPOSED to look more “ethereal” in the Dremastered version - and it DOES, with the white lighting and all, it DOES look more ethereal. But i also think that the white lighting is so strong, that it drowns some of the details (or thats my reasoning anyway, i dont know the real explonation).
And this specific example is just waaaay too blurry for my taste on the Dremastered version.
From what I read, the original theatrical and extended versions have their fare share of detail/clarity in certain scenes. E.g. a scene is much more detailed in theatrical, but no on the extended. In another scene, the extended is more detailed than theatrical. Something to do with post-processing the different versions, correct me if I’m wrong anyone. The Dremastered version is a 4K upscaled and color-graded of the 1080p theatrical release. It would be quite a project to select and cut the detailed scenes from the extended version. Maybe we’ll get one one day.
