What is the REAL reason George doesn't want anyone to see the O-OT?

He's basically dissowned the films for years now, but I would love to know exactly WHY George wants to basically erase it from public conscience. To him, the films that turned him from a modestly successful filmmaker to King George are rough drafts that nobody should be allowed to see. To me, that means that George really DOES care what people think of him. It's very ironic that George cares what people think about the special effects, but he doesn't seem to care what people think about the directing, writing, plot holes, and acting. Otherwise, he'd be deleting Jar Jar Binks and redubbing some of the bad dialogue.

I think it's a very interesting that George doesn't want to let anyone see the films. Is he ashamed of those versions? Or perhaps does he see the films as a reflection of himself. If he keeps updating the films, they won't get old, which means he won't get old either? I'm no psychologist, so I'm pretty sure there's some underlying personal reason why GL has not only disowned the original versions of the classic films, but wants to control the public's ability to see cleaned up remastered versions of the O-OT.
