Hi there!
I’m Randy. Not gonna lie. At first, I was here to find out how I could get a link to the Original Three in their Theatrical release before George decided to “fix” them. I still have a DVD of the original cuts, and I’m pretty sure I still have the VHS tapes before the “fix”, but they aren’t very good/clean copies. Then I read a lot of what most of you are here for. And, found it not only interesting, but educational too.

A little about me;
I first saw the original release before the crowds started getting big in May of 1977. What very few people know is that when SW was first released, it was little publicized by 20th Century Fox before its release. They did very little to get it out to the public (they thought they had a flop on their hands, so they did as little as they possibly could). It was released in a few theaters in LA (I saw it at the Hollywood Theater, now a Wax Museum, just down the block from Grahmann’s Chinese Theater). I just turned 13 a week before its release. My family was in LA because my mom was filming a TV Game Show. The Studio wouldn’t let me, my dad, and brothers watch from the audience. So, my dad, a HUGE Sci-Fi fan, saw the trailer the day before and thought it would be fun to go watch. We drove around Hollywood until we found a theater playing SW. The theater wasn’t even half full. Opening slate, drawn-out crawl, and the first time I ever heard surround sound…I was SOLD!! I have been a HUGE fan since.
