It doesn’t sound like disc rot from what 05The4th describes, but it appears there are a lot of YouTube videos on the subject of disc rot over the past couple of years.

This guy talks about it in a 7 minute video on his 2006 GOUT DVDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehrDoklrl8s

and this guy talks about the subject in much longer videos, mainly for Warner Home Video DVDs and a processing error which may have caused eventual disc rot? I don’t think it is applicable here, but could be something similar? An error in the processing of the discs exposed over time, maybe?

It could be worth backing up any important or valued discs we may have lying around in our collections, just in case?

I just checked my GOUT DVDs, they all played just fine 2 years ago. Now, only Jedi works in a DVD player, and on PC. Only the Lego game trailer works on one of the discs, and they are both (SW & ESB) unreadable other than that.

I hope 05The4th has some better luck trying to read his discs through the chapters section on a pc/laptop.
