I'm not too concerned about preserving the surprise. I just think the Vader stuff in RotS was bad.

How so?

I finessed it a bit in my edit with some music changes.

It just seemed unnecessary to show Vader going into the suit. I had the impression from the OT that he had become who he is over the years, rather than in one fell swoop and then just remaining the same for 18 years while Luke grew up (while the Death Star was undergoing extensive testing?). All that stuff at the end of RotS was unnecesary. I know what happens at the beginning of Star Wars and I can fill in the blanks without being shown everything I already know and can imagine better.

i agree with that how would sidious have a vader suit all ready to go anyways? thats why i hated the ending of rots, it all felt so anti climatic

There isn't anything in the OT to indicate this.

I assume that sidious had the suit ready because I assume there are other people in the galaxy with similar injuries who are encased in similar suits.

The only bit of insight I can offer on this is that in the Clone Wars, the Helmet (and chest box, I believe), were shown to be Jedi space suit type-things.

Would anyone happen to be able to acquire a sound clip of Liam Neeson saying something to the effect of "you are afraid?"

It can be anything... "are you afraid?" "you fear?" "why do you fear?" or "you are afraid!"
If anyone can do this, I have an idea for a unique way to include Qui-Gon in Yoda's ordeal in Episode III.

I think there is a "What do you fear?" in Batman.

Excellent. I do not own the DVD, could you possibly send it to me?

I'll email you later with details on what I'm planning, but I absolutley need a line like that to make it work.

I do not like that Luke inherits a lightsaber that has been used to kill younglings, Shaak Ti and many other Jedi, so I am thinking of replacing Anakin's saber in those scenes with a red-bladed Darth Vader-saber. I know of people on other boards who bought the Anakin ROTS FX saber before the movie came out and later returned it because they were disgusted of what it had been used for.

There emerges a problem with continuity. Obi-Wan must acquire Anakin's lightsaber somehow.
The best idea (for continuity's sake) I have so far is to let Grievous capture the saber on board the Invisible Hand and let Obi-Wan get the saber on Utapau from Cody. Then I would have to paint it away from frames with Anakin wearing it and cut the scene with Anakin pointing it at Palpatine.
Another idea is to let Obi-Wan find it in Padmé's apartment. Cutting together these shots would be a challenge. At the very least I would have to insert dialogue from other movies, and I might have to insert a closeup of a fan's hands holding a replica Anakin saber.
I am also considering altering Anakin's clothing somewhat - make it darker, less brown, maybe add a chain and the larger Darth Vader belt buckle.

This would of course involve a lot of manual work, and I am not yet sure if it would be worthwhile.
What do you other people think of these changes? Would it improve the movie or not?

Wow, you can't be serious......I nearly choked on my drink laughing at that. That is really sad, I hope , hope that you were joking. That's like saying I would never want to own a Darth Vader (OT) lightsaber because it killed obi-wan and cut off lukes hand, silly. Ok, i'm sorry back to discussion, that was just wrong.

Agreed. It's all about the person who wields the weapon, not the weapon itself. After all, lightsabers don't kill Jedi; Jedi kill Jedi. Wait a minute ...

If Darth Vader had been played by Charleton Heston in ROTJ (as somebody suggested in another thread) we'd probably hear him say this: "Here is my credo: A lightsaber in the hands of a bad Jedi is a good thing. A lightsaber in the hands of a good Jedi is no threat to anybody ... except bad robots."
