You know, there wouldn't be so much hostility if you didn't come into this board with such a high and mighty attitude. You always say we're blinded by nostalgia, and you're part of a new generation of Star Wars fans that sees it for what it really is. That's what gets me miffed. And then when we argue, your response is that it's up to Lucas, and nobody else will ever know the truth for sure, even though you seem to be sure that we're just screwed up fans.

And I'm curious, why are you hating the Tantive IV? You barely see it for ten seconds. Besides the fact that it's a decent model. What do you want it to do? Do flips and wave? I'm very curious why you hate that model so much.

by the way adam is just someone who has bought into the whole lucas revisionist theory, that the star wars saga was always the tragedy of darth vader, but lucas didnt come up with that notion til 1998, 15 years after he made the OT!

Yeah adam, you sorta shot yourself in the ass with that "I haven't even seen ESB and ROTJ" I mean--you're on a board called OriginalTrilogy.com that's almost known now for the LD rips that reside on these boards more than the petition that brought people here a couple years ago--and you haven't watched 2/3rds OF the Original Trilogy? That's weak to be spending all this time speaking from a position of knowledge and understanding and not even WATCHING them.

i wouldnt have minded if lucas made it all about anakin if most of the prequel trilogy didnt suck so bad! why would anyone want to watch either tpm, atoc, or even the first 45 minutes of rots again! they are that bad! it just shows how much story lucas really had for these movies, not much! what a waste of a good trilogy

I guess it's OK as it is. It's just that I would love there to be a clear consistency between the two models.

Well, then, why is it the problem of the original model that it doesn't match the one from ROTS? And I don't have my DVD with me, but I really didn't see that much of a difference between the two except maybe a slightly different paint job. I'm not trying to fight, I just never really noticed anything horribly different.

well the tantive looks squashed in rots, than in ANH. thats just a failure in the effects for rots though not ANH

Like you said, the paint job is different. Well, I gues that could be explained because of the 20 year gap.

A clever troll doesn't need a history with the subject matter of a forum. They need only a basic understanding of the subject matter and knowledge of what most of the members like and dislike. After a little lurking to get a feel for the level of moderation, they join and start contradicting the views of the others accordingly. It's control for them. They can make people react remotely and through the anonymity of the internet. It's power and notoriety they lack in their real world.

Yeah, someone get Jay and have him look into this. The fact that he didn't watch the O-OT warrents either a ban or an ignore feature of some kind. It's funny how when you drive adam into a corner he can't get out of, he says that only lucas will only know the truth and crap like that.

Adam not seeing the whole OOT is enough to make me suspicious that he's just out to cause some trouble around here. No one can be that stupid to argue with a bunch of die hard OOT SW fans about the changes made when you haven't even seen the originals to begin with.

Let me add something here for this debate, and it'll be the only time I do this, because I usually ignore all the trollers here and ask for everyone to do the same. While AWK behaviour justifies a unforgivable ban, and I support Jay if him (and only him) choses to do so, I must play the devil's advocate on his points and views. I've read AWK's justification for liking the prequels, the SEs, and all that stuff, and to me it seems like a valid point - I say "seems", because I could be wrong, and not fully understanding what he is saying. But his point is that to him, the whole SW began with TPM, so he sees the whole saga from a different point of view. Because of that, he has other opinions, as he has made connection to the films in a different way. Do I agree with him? Absolutely not, but... since he has a different point of view, and therefore a different opinion, we should as well respect that. It would be like, banning a deaf person because they don't agree that John William's score for the films is great, well, that person had a different point of view, and therefore a different opinion, which will never be the same as ours. From day 1 I've always said, I support people who appreciate the SEs posting here, because this is a democratic and free forum, and we are to raise our opinion based on TWO different views, and neither side is absolutely correct.

Unfortunally, AWK's behaviour has not been acceptable, no matter what opinion he has, so if we do anything about it, let it be because of his behaviour, NOT for his opinions.

WTF?!? You get angry because I haven't seen the OOT? So what? I'm a huge SW fan, that's what matters. That's ALL that matters. I like the SW saga. I'm a huge fan of the PT and OT, and that should be enough info. If I haven't seen the OOT, then that shouldn't concern anyone. Don't go labeling me as something like that, just because I differ.

It's not that you haven't seen the O-OT. It's the fact that you came here with a high-and-mighty attitude and started telling us how much better the 2004 changed versions were, when you hadn't even seen the unchanged ones.

i really don't have any problems with adam's opinions they are his and he has a right to them, but his behaviour on this forum is suspect. The fact that he hasn't seen the O-OT isn't the reason we should ban him. It's the fact that he was baiting us with the high-and-mighty attitude about the 2004 DVDs when he hadn't seen the originals. That is what a troll is right? someone who comes in an baits users with what they say? Adam, it's great that you want to see the oot, but it doesn't negate what you've already done on this forum. You don't really have a means to compare the 2004 dvds to the original if you haven't seen both. It's like comparing coke to pepsi. you can't form an intelligent comparison unless you've sampled both the colas. do you understand where we are coming from at least?
