NEED FINAL CUT PRO 4 HELP

I'M GOING TO START DOING SOME EDITING HERE AND THERE. I HAVE FINAL CUT PRO 4, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO USE. MY COPY HAS NO MANUAL WHATSOEVER. WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO RIGHT NOW IS EDIT A DVD THAT IS STORED ON MY HD, BUT I KEEP GETTING SOME KIND OF FILE ERROR. ANY HELP WILL BE REWARDED.

dayv,

if you use ffmpegx and change the vob file to a .dv file, it should edit swimmingly with fcpro4.

WELL, FINAL CUT PRO DOESN'T LIKE MPEG-4.

DAMN IT !!!

If you still having problems then you can try this Handy conversion program .My workflow for getting vob files to FCP is like this, I demux the vob to a m2v with accompanying audio file the I use mpeg streamclip to export the m2v file using the Final Cut unscaled option, this way you are not recompressing the footage and degrading the quality further.
Heres a link also to a cut down manual for Final Cut Pro 5, a lot of the stuff is the same FCP Manual hope this helps.
