Yeah, I mean, I can understand the great attatchment to the original versions, since those versions are usually from the best parts of their childhoods. I would feel the same way if, after 20 years, someone changed a film a loved so much around, and then said the story was not focused on who I thought it was. But, I think we all take it all a little too seriously at times. I myself often forget that it all is just fictional. It is such a fun, inspiring story, that we all wish parts of it were true.

I don't get these people who completely despise the prequels or the EU. I mean, they may not be the greatest films in the history of cinema, or the greatest stories in the world, and they may not hold up to the standards of the original films, but they are stories, which Lucas and company made with completely good intentions. They were made for a wide audience, in order for people of all ages to take away what they wanted from it. It's all meant to be enjoyed. Myself, I read the EU, watch the prequels, the original films, and I enjoy the stories. I may not like some stories, but I don't completely dismiss them as "horrible" or say that the artist needs to be redeemed or the artists has lost his/her touch. I like to watch/read the SW stories, and have fun, which is all I think anyone can ever expect.
