Hello all. I’m working on a personal project were I’m trying to edit a number of episodes from a tv series into a series of movies. I’m 100% new to this and don’t have much experience. My biggest issue right now is cutting up scenes that have music over them, causing an abrupt jump in the music when I take a clip from it and move it.

My question is, for those of you who regularly do edits, what is the standard procedure for dealing with cuts in scenes like this? Do you simply get rid of the music and sound effects and rebuild it from scratch, or are their other methods?
