Okay so I did some “math” and some “best as i can lining up” and came up with this:
I used the relative and “real life” scale of the Gun Tower and SSD to calulate their distance from the camera and each other.
So as you can see as it is a sphere the curviture is less noticable as you get closer to the surface which you couldn’t demonstrate with a circle as it would always be tangental to the horizen. The other by-product is that due to how far away the SSD “is” from the camera it actually would have impacted beyond the horizen.
There are three solutions to this:
- Increase the scale of the SSD (bringing it closer)
- Move the camera back (increasing the curviture of the DS2)
- Do whatever Adywan has planned (which will inevitably be better than options 1 and 2)
