Agreed. Can anyone think of other things that have been modified without the originals being released? I can think of another video game. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Many of the games in the series have had minor text changes in a re-release because it was originally mistranslated. This is not the case with oot as there are two differences between the gold and grey n64 cartridges. The music in the Fire Temple had a Muslim chant that was replaced with something generic. Ganondorf spits out green blood instead of red after the first battle with him. In the Master Quest and Collector's Eddition re-releases for the gamecube, the Gerudo symbol was changed from the Muslim crescent to some really lame clover symbol. That really annoyed me. I've heard the blood was changed to avoid a Teen rating and the other two were because it offended the Muslim community. Does anyone have any official reports that talked about this?

Like the official Star Wars dvd's, the gamecube re-release has such a higher resolution allowing for much greater clarity. I'm wondering if it would be possible through either computer emulation or hardware tweaking to produce a better resolution for n64 games beyond what the expansion pak and s-video cable can do.
