The thing about lightspeed skipping is that if you keep it the way canon explains it for future Star Wars projects post TROS, they’ll have to explain every single time somebody makes a jump to escape from an enemy why the ship isn’t tracked immediately. Hell, maybe this is why Kylo knows they’re going to Endor and not because of the dagger.
