In grief and pain I have a part, but I don't have any heart.

Don't mind me, just bumpin' the thread.
It wasn't as fun as i'd hoped it would be.

I re-read it again. Apparently nobody could figure out my "red sheep" one.
I have a flock of red sheep.
When they cry, they all weep.
Won't you give it a try?

I had fun! Sorry it wasn't as good for you. And I still have no idea what Leo's riddle could possibly mean. Why don't you suggest one, bkev?

Just made this one up...
With cracked lines upon my face,
strangers watch me, chatter and pace.
Though in winter beware my treachery,
men still get in line and follow me.

Wait is it red maple trees?
Ooh, that's good. Or a forest in the autumn.
It's not marshmallows, twist... peckish much?
Dom and Darth, it's not either of those (nice mental images tho) but I can say this much: it's got to do with the season. In fact, it's got to do with the weather. I've said too much already.
Oooooh... keyboard was the first thing that popped into my mind but I never posted it as it fitted the first two lines but I still can't figure out how it applies to the 3rd?
"I have a flock of red sheep.

^ A weeping Willow tree in the autumn?

No, cold again. Read the hint above.
I really hope it doesn't turn out to be lost in translation, when I finally tell you guys the answer (assuming no one gets it).

Okay an autumn breeze then = a wind cries, it makes trees weep their leaves, their leaves are red sheep following the breeze (It's a solution :-D)
I've made up this suitably Tolkien themed riddle for you all (I suspect it's quite easy though)...
"Robes with no hood,
but draped in sleeves.
Folk smile to hear me,
but also grieve.
Black as pitch,
painful to itch.
In the valleys I sing,
for I am the ring"

Yeah, but not the solution, sorry. Very poetic I must say.

Red roses when they wilt?
Or maybe red clouds at sunset?
