Anyways, I have seen all the movies and some a few times (true I could have read instead but....you know..they're movies and its easier to get started). I liked the first one because it was the whole introductory story and like LOTR:FOTR, it was more based around telling about all the cool stuff as well as a story. I remmebr the second one but only a little because I only saw it once. I liked it of course but serious;y nothing sticks out except the end because well....it was a really big snake. Third one was cool but even tho I didn't read the books I knew much backstory must have been skipped. It had a non-sensical overall plot but hey...fantasy. Was still fun and more dark (serious actually) and had some cool effects.
I just got done watching GoF two hours ago and on first impression.....very very impressive. I liked so much about it. The acting was utterly amazing from people this age.....it puts the PT actors (all who have more acting and experience) to shame despite their high status. I put this directly on this new director. I vaguely remember his other movies but to get this out of teenagers is incredible IMO....rather realistic and emotional. The characters really start o develope...Ron starts to get angered by Harry's fame, Hermoine starts turning into the semi-sister like girl and also an object for the two guys, andHarry just keeps getting more mature (no shit huh?). The plot was actually pretty cool and see Voldemort (spelling?) was actually a little creepy, especially the quick shot he has as a small fucked up...thing. Like they said at the end, I got the big feeling things are gonna change. Do the books get way more serious and dark? Lastly, the effects in this movie are up to most of Episode 3. It was all shot/rendered/whatever so perfectly. The whole lighting, the mood, the atmosphere, the colors, just really great.
This is truly one of the very few series of films that gets better on each part. And like how it sort of matures both in look, feel, and plotlines with the way it's audience in general does.
9/10
And hell no I won't be going into the whole religions debate. I spent an entire month studying that to write a long documented essay on censorship and Harry Potter and it's just too soon for me to go off on my opinion.
