It will also be dual-layered (the first disc).

GAHHH I need a Dual layer burner!! who wants to buy me a christmas present?!

They're really cheap. Mine was (I believe) $40. Very cheap.

You can always burn a single layer version.

BTW, the sync is correct by my eyes. All I have to do is add chapter stops and I'm done.

I do have a question about the IFO editor on DVD-lab for those with knowledge of it. There is a Quantization option which lists various BPS's as well as dynamic range control as an option. Any idea which I should use?

Dynamic Range Control is normally related to AC3 audio, and there is a relationship between The Dialogue Normalisation levels and the RF Overmodulation, which if set wrong can cause the audio to 'pump' on some systems (Only seen it happen on Apple's DVD Player and you could turn off the feature).

HTH or I'm getting mixed up with something else!

Yes, it's the audio IFO editor. I'm not sure which I should set it to. There are 4 options.

Hmm, the bitrate options don't ring any bells I'm afraid.

I know there is an issue with dynamic range control with respect to dialogue normalisation - someone did a really good post on the Doom9 forums I found via a google search. It's all graphs with peaks and flat bits and I must admit I didn't follow all of it. I personally just fudge things by setting the dialogue normalisation to -31dB and the dynamic range control to 'none' - would your options be film light, film heavy, music light, music heavy?

Don't know if this helps at all:

EDIT:

I've had a bit of a google and found this on the DVD Lab Forums:

DVD Lab Audio Ifo Edit

DVD Lab muxer supports:

16/48/2
16/96/2
24/48/2
24/96/2

I do not think it supports any 1 channel PCM. As far as input, user has to create a wav file to package the LPCM. Some audio software like CakeWalk's and Avid's load a long PAD chuck in the wav header, causing mux not detecting parameters correctly. Therefore user should keep the wav chucks as simple as possible.

This seems to be referring to PCM audio only, in which case the most common format is 16bit, 48Khz, 2 Channel. I do believe you can get some problems if you use 24bit PCM audio as some dvd players just clip the top 8 bits!!

I don't remember you saying about PCM so maybe you can ignore this?

I'm thrilled to finally see The Game posted to Myspleen. I've been eagerly awaiting it for the last 2 months since I first saw you mention it. It's great to finally get a decent special edition of this movie to go with the other official SE's of Fincher's films. I can't believe the studio has procrastinated this long on doing an SE of The Game. One has been rumored for like 3 years and who knows if it will ever come out. I'm tired of waiting, and I'm glad you ripped the Criterion laserdisc for us. It may end up being a better SE than any eventual special edition the studio produces. I even like the custom DVD cover you made for it.

So what's next after The Game? I'm hoping you'll do the Jaws or E.T. supplements soon. Are there any new projects you have planned now besides the ones mentioned in the first post of this thread?

I actually have a VERY busy business life and do other projects with my musical interests that aren't even listed here. I might attend to some of those since they're sitting on my hard drive. I might throw up some others that are already mastered but we'll see. I have no immediate plans to release any of the other titles. It may just be what i'm feeling in the moment or what's easiest to complete.
I do have a bunch of discs to get to Babyhum because he was going to use some of my masters for Star Wars stuff...plus I wanted to do some more Indy stuff.

Thanks for the support and the interest! Please let me know what you think when it's done downloading.

REMINDER: I will start seeding Disc 2 of The Game tomorrow with all of the extras. I wanted to make sure Disc 1 was out and "done" before I started Disc 2.

Have you finished downloading the discs yet? I'd love to hear some opinions. Not many have them yet.
