The future Star Wars TV series

I thought I might start a thread, as it's been mentioned in another thread, about the upcoming SW TV series. So, what does everyone think of the two new series? Myself, I'm looking forward to both of them. He's said if they were successful, he might do a KOTOR TV series.

I'm personally not looking forward to them, and since I don't watch much network TV anymore, I'll probably never even see them. I just think Lucas should put Star Wars to bed as gracefully as is still possible to do and move on. I believe that any more expansion of Star Wars is just going to unravel everything more than it already has.

Now that I've had my negative remark, let the discussion continue!

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I'm also worried about the series. The rise of the empire as the time frame? About bounty hunters? It seems like it won't be "Star Wars" without jedi. Of course, we can't expect too many familar faces, also, except maybe a guest apperance by Boba Fett or some other like character. So far it seems to be like it will be a generic sci-fi series that just happens to take place in the Star Wars universe. Then there is the fact that Lucas hasn't had good luck with TV, such as the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. But I really really hope I'm wrong. I'd love a good Star Wars TV show. I'm just sceptical about it being any good.

He said in an interview with the IESB that if this one is successful, he might make one also set in the KOTOR era.

So he can ruin that era, too?

Seriously, Star Wars should stay away from the small screen. A Star Wars tv series would just end up being another Enterprise or Babylon 5 or Farscape....but not as good as Enterprise, Babylon 5 or Farscape.

Yeah, I think it would be. At least the live action one. The cartoon, who knows?

I don't care what it is. Hell, I like the ewok movies and the holiday special. If it's a sci-fi series set in the Star Wars universe, I will like it, no matter what.

I know it is been said so many times on here, I just wish Lucas would do something other than Star Wars and put it to bed, I can honestly see Lucas just keep it going and going and maybe moaning how he wants to do other things, and I think was said before we will all watch it because it is Star Wars to start off with,

I am worried, that it will fail, it doesnt sound too promising to me personally. i am sure it will have blockbuster ratings for the first month because of the Star Wars name and if its crap I feel the figures will drop leaving only the people that eat up anything Star Wars to watch it which maybe well be enough, and the money Lucasfilm will make of the merchandising etc should help ease the blow slightly if does become a disaster.

I believe Star Wars should remain on the big-screen, and not be-litle itself to become a T.V Sci-Fi show as I believe Star Wars is/was always bigger than most/if any of the Sci-Fi franchises or any franchise out there

Star Wars is in a mess anyway with some fans thinking the Prequels have ruined Star Wars, let alone a TV series which may seal its fate

And it doesn't help that Jim Ward confirmed that his little marketing mind already has plans for video games based on the new series.

Teenybopper.

I happen to support Lucas, no matter what he does with Star Wars, as he is a rather level-headed person. I think I would prefer the name "fanboy," instead.

Adam if you support Lucas no matter what he does with Star Wars, why do you bash Lucas on other sites by calling him Luca($) for appearing on Donald Trump on theforce.net and for releasing another boxset on the official site, and on Amazon, you have bashed him on here doing that, you cant have it both ways...

Because it's cool and 'now' to diss lucas, so being a teenybopper, Adam is getting in on it.

I would love to see a plot where the focus on the enslavement of the Wookiees. By learning that they helped Yoda escape, there is a concrete reason why Palpatine would want that entire planet enslaved. I'm not sure what the EU stated as a reason, but that would be a plot well worth getting into.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

I think it's contradiction or just stupidity.

Yes! Kashyyyk would be an excellent location! After all, it is my favorite planet, as it is from the holiday special!

This show is gonna blow no matter what it's about.

Adam....no offense meant nor am I trying to start trouble here, but if Lucas came to a sudden halt, your face would go halfway up his ass.
