Loving your work Thanos! I’ve watched all five features over the last couple weeks and wanted to congratulate you on a superb effort. Sticking predominantly with Lyra’s POV, cutting the early Will and Boreal appearances, and cutting various subplots/sideplots worked brilliantly; makes total sense and makes for better pacing to meet these characters and discover the worlds as the main character/s do. Pretty much everything that was needed to tell a complete and cohesive narrative was included, great use and placement of new and existing montages, and I didn’t find myself missing what was ‘missing’.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Means the world(s) to me!
Perhaps one of the only moments I found myself pondering, narratively speaking, is how Lee Scoresby encounters the name ‘Stanislaus Grumman’ and decides to search for him…I know he announces it to the witches in the third film, but maybe I missed what gave Lee that idea and impetus (aside, of course, from being ‘summoned’ by Grumman/Jopari)…it’s been a while since I watched the original series, so can’t remember if there is a scene that indicates as much to the audience…but honestly, that’s a minor nitpick…
I actually had to google this one because I couldn’t remember the events of the original series as well… And as it turns out, there is no account of how Lee came to know about Grumman. In both the book and the TV series, Lee coincidentally discovered information regarding an object which can protect the bearer and that Stanislaus Grumman knew of its whereabouts.
