I’m definitely on-board with some restructuring of the N1 test flight, pull over and pirate dogfight scenes. It was about the only sequence of the film that felt a little out of whack for me.
In my opinion, they both (or one or the other) need to happen before R5 is put in the fighter, as despite your best efforts, Grogu’s bubble is too visible in the pull over sequence. That means a clean flight away from Tatooine after landing and retrieving R5.
Both scenes end with the use of the boost, and I honestly don’t think the pull over scene adds anything new that previous scenes or the pirate dogfight don’t. The pirate scene shows the fighters manoeuvrability and speed capabilities without needing to repeat that by escaping from the X-Wings, and we already know Teva has a soft spot for Din following the ice-planet/spider debacle. The only problem is context of how the pirates know it’s him in an unregistered ship. Maybe a spy in Mos Eisley and line to reflect that from the pirates?
As for your proposed Book 6, that has me very excited. It’s an extremely different way of working through the content, and I think it’ll work overall. I’m particularly interested to see the monster battles being re-framed as Bo-Katan training the clan. My only concern there would be that the ending of Book 5 clearly showed the Mandalorian Clan being offered a place on Nevarro. How are you intending to frame that Bo-Katan is taking them off world for these training runs? Or why they haven’t yet moved to Nevarro?
